Raven Trekker 39
A Year on the Wrist

Hello and welcome, watch enthusiasts and adventure seekers, this is The Dialed Dads inaugural watch review. We chose this watch for our first review because it covers a lot of bases and better yet, does so affordably and reliably. What do you want for an everyday watch? I can tell you with confidence that I want a rugged watch that can go anywhere and do anything while still looking good doing it. The watch we will review today is the Raven Trekker 39. We have a wristwatch that’s designed for the rugged outdoors and built to withstand a variety conditions and events. In this review, we explore into the design, functionality, and overall performance of this noteworthy tool watch.
Before we get too deep into the watch, I would be remiss if I did not discuss what we believe is the most important part of any watch – the feeling you get when you wear it, and what the watch means to you. I have had many watches over the years, most of them digital, and some of those are the watches that mean the most to me. The experiences that take place when you wear a watch can be etched into your memories like the smell of fresh cut grass on a summer night. I can think of one specific Nike Triax 50 with red buttons on a black body that went many places with me and did lots of cool things. This watch is similar it has been my go to watch for the past few years ever since my wife gifted it to me for completing my masters degree. It is a symbol of accomplishment as well as the adventures we took during that time as a young growing family. This watch will forever remain in my collection and I cherish it as much as I beat it up.

Starting with the beautiful yet rugged design of the Raven Trekker 39. This watch is a prime example of form following function. It boasts a rugged and functional design that’s as stylish as it is practical. A dive and adventure watch that sits on a jubilee bracelet looks as good in jeans as it does in slacks and wearing it with a suit. The 39mm stainless steel case is compact, making it versatile for both outdoor adventures and everyday wear. At 13mm thick with the 2mm domed sapphire glass, reading the dial is a breeze, and it feels at home in a dress shirt as much as it does over a rash guard. The design by Steve and Raven watches is truly impressive with 300m of water resistance in a compact and attractive design. Not to mention the nice leather travel case that can hold two additional watches while you are rocking your Trekker.
This watch is not just great looking; it’s also comfortable to wear. The Trekker comes with a comfortable and light jubilee bracelet, which is perfect for extended wear during outdoor activities. The bracelet tapers nicely from 20mm to 16mm at the clasp it is easily adjustable, and the watch sits comfortably on the wrist. The case design ties in 20mm lugs which makes this thing an absolute strap monster that feels good on bracelet as much as it does a NATO strap or a leather band.
Moving on from the nicely designed and sized case, the Trekker 39 features a energetic blue dial with bold, high-contrast white markers, silver brushed hands with a yellow shovel seconds hand that ties together the eye catching dial with perfection. The oversized numerals and indices ensure excellent legibility in all lighting conditions. The sapphire crystal is anti-reflective, and it’s extremely scratch-resistant, which is essential for outdoor activities ranging from swimming and hiking to a night out at the baseball game.
Day or night, this watch looks great thanks in large part to a very generous amount of Super-LumiNova on the hands and markers, ensuring excellent visibility in low-light situations. This makes it a reliable companion for those nighttime adventures.
What’s inside this amazing and versatile case? The Raven Trekker 39 is powered by the tried and tested Miyota 9105 (date) or Miyota 90S5 (no date). It’s a workhorse movement known for its reliability and accuracy. From the manufacturer it is rated at +/-10-30 sec/day. During my time wearing this watch I have noticed the regulation performed by Raven Watches to keep it closer to +/- 8-10 sec/day. The 38 hour power reserve also lets you put the watch down for a day to wear something else in your collection and you don’t have to worry about winding the next day.
When it comes to functionality, this watch doesn’t disappoint as stated earlier the Trekker 39 is built to withstand harsh environments, thanks to its 300 meters water resistance and robust construction. The rotating unidirectional bezel is easy to grip and use, making it perfect for timing various activities.
To close this out, the Raven Trekker 39 is a watch that forms an intersection of functionality and style beautifully. A do-it-all watch with the ruggedness of a dive watch a beautiful explorer dial makes this a reliable tool watch that can handle the demands of outdoor adventures, and it looks great doing it. With its tough construction, exceptional legibility, and a high quality automatic movement, it’s a worthy companion for anyone with a taste for adventure. So, whether you’re trekking through the mountains, diving into the clear blue waters in the Caribbean depths, or just looking for a stylish watch that looks good at a baseball game or a night out, the Raven Trekker 39 has got you covered.
